EVERYTHING CHANGED FOR ME IN MY EARLY 30S.
Always active and energetic, I suddenly felt old, fat, dowdy and unattractive. Everything ached. I used to get compliments on my appearance--"you look so cute in that outfit"--but now nothing fit, and I dreaded shopping.
THAT'S WHEN I EXPERIENCED PERI-MENOPAUSE, THE 10 YEARS BEFORE THE 'MAIN EVENT' AND THE TIME WHEN WOMEN EXPERIENCE A DRAMATIC DECREASE IN PROGESTERONE, A CRITICAL HORMONE THAT'S SOMETIMES EVEN CALLED 'NATURE'S VALIUM.'
While peri-menopause usually often occurs in the 40s, it CAN happen earlier, as it did for me. Here's what else I got:
-
Hot flashes so severe that “are you okay?” became a familiar phrase
-
Sleep-deprivation and always tired
-
Boated
-
Moodiness
-
Forgetfulness
To make matters worse, my GYN pooh-poohed me, insisting that I was “too young.” I finally found a physician who also emphasized lifestyle techniques and I felt better soon.
DID ANY PART OF THIS STORY RESONATE WITH YOU?

It doesn’t matter if you’re a 30-something or if you’re in your 50s or 60s; hormone havoc can occur at any time, caused by any number of internal or external factors, including diet; food, environmental allergies; stress; illness; surgery and medication, among others.
We'll explore the possible reasons, correct them (naturally) and you'll be back to your old self.
Weight loss isn't a simple matter of "calories in, calories out." There can be many reasons you aren't losing weight and one of them is--you guessed it!--hormones. As a health coach, I found five hormones that especially need monitoring.
I've really, really been there...
